The success at bauma 2025 clearly demonstrated one thing: the industry is desperately seeking solutions to end the "blind flight" underground and make pipeline construction more efficient and safer. At Stern Technic, we have taken up this demand. Our vision of a networked, intelligent construction site is now becoming a reality.
Holistic process reliability instead of isolated hardware
Conventional trenchless pipeline construction methods often pose incalculable risks to existing infrastructure. Our approach at Stern Technic is therefore not a single product, but a synergistic workflow that seamlessly integrates hardware and artificial intelligence.
The pillars of our system:
WENDY (AI Control & Documentation): The digital brain of our workflow. WENDY not only handles seamless documentation but will also act as an AI co-pilot in the future . Telemetry data is analyzed in real time to proactively respond to soil changes.
BOB (Autonomous Drilling Robot): Our specialist for granular media and light soils. BOB is fully electric, autonomously detects its position, and corrects deviations before damage occurs.
BUDDEL (Pneumatic Push System): When power is required, BUDDEL sets new standards in lightweight construction with a pressing force of 12,000 N. The system is mobile, highly efficient, and perfectly matched to digital control.
The AI co-pilot: The next level of autonomy
We are currently working on integrating a real-time co-pilot within WENDY. The goal: Telemetry data – such as torque, pressure, and position – will be evaluated live to autonomously send control commands back to BOB or BUDDEL. This minimizes the risk of human error and maximizes forward speed with the highest level of safety.
